Swimming is only permitted under the supervision of a certified lifeguard. Prothro Natatorium is primarily a fitness swimming facility and priority for space will be given to lap swimmers. Sweet Briar household members of faculty and staff under the age of 15, must be directly supervised by an adult or guardian 18 years of age or older. Children of alumnae are guests and must be accompanied and supervised by their alumnae parents at all times. Children in diapers must wear an approved swimming diaper to enter the pool. The Sweet Briar aquatics staff has complete authority to enforce the rules at their discretion to ensure the safety of pool users, this includes clearing the facility when thunder and lightning are present. Sweet Briar reserves the right to change pool hours and/or facility availability to meet programming and staffing needs. Every effort will be made to give advance notice of changes. SBC students are allowed to bring one or more guests at no charge.
