GILBERT, Ariz. — The 2017 Zag Field Hockey / NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad was announced on Thursday and features a pair of Vixens as first-year Rosemary Austin and senior Rachel Rogers were recognized for their academic success.

Both Austin (Commerce Township, Mich.) and Rogers (Providence Forge, Va.) received their first recognition from Zag Field Hockey and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association this season. Austin and Rogers' inclusion marks the fourth consecutive year that Sweet Briar has had multiple honorees from the NFHCA.

"It's a wonderful accomplishment for Rachel and Rosemary to be honored for their hard work on the field and in the classroom," said head coach Hannah Lott. "To maintain a minimum of a 3.3 cumulative GPA and compete in athletics demonstrates the spirit of Division III athletics, and I'm proud that the program has had multiple selections each of the past four years."

Over 1,700 student-athletes representing 148 schools were selected to the 2017 Zag Field Hockey / NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.

The Division III National Academic Squad program recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2017-18 academic year.
