Vixens receive NCEA Team Sportsmanship Award

WACO, Texas — The Sweet Briar equestrian program was honored following the completion of the programs' first season in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association by being named the 2018 recipients of the NCEA Team Sportsmanship Award, as announced on Tuesday.

The NCEA Team Sportsmanship Award is an annual award that reflects on the outstanding nature of collegiate equestrian student-athletes and their respective programs.

The Vixens were presented the trophy at the conclusion of the 2017-18 NCEA season, which saw Sweet Briar compete in Equitation over Fences and Equitation on the Flat at the NCEA National Championships in Waco.

The NCEA Team Sportsmanship Trophy, donated by the Anthony Family and Potcreek Meadow Farm, was presented on the basis of humility in victory and defeat, and for outstanding displays of character by the student-athletes and coaches.
