2014 Vixen Softball Season Recap

SWEET BRIAR, Va.  --- The 2014 softball season has come to a close for the Sweet Briar College Vixens. SBC finished the season with a 4-25 overall record and 0-20 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Vixens picked up their first win of the season against Hagerstown, winning 13-12 on March 14th. SBC's first sweep of the season came against the University of Maine-Presque Isle on April 1st.

Freshman shortstop Amanda Terry (Richmond, Va. / Hermitage) led the team with a .306 batting average and 11 RBI. Senior P/OF Megan Thompson (Newport News, Va. / Warwick) was 2nd in batting with a .289 average. Sophomore catcher Nene Jones (Lynchburg, Va. / Heritage) was 2nd in RBI with eight and led the Vixens with two homeruns on the season.  On the defensive side, Thompson struck out 33 opposing batters to lead SBC.
