SWEET BRIAR, Va.- The Sweet Briar College lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day during a rainy Saturday afternoon match against Shenandoah University. The Hornets were not deterred by the weather, cruising to a 19-0 victory.

The five members of the class of 2017 and their parents were honored prior to the opening draw for their continued dedication and commitment to Sweet Briar College. This marked the final time that Noell Cosby, Kiley Jolicoeur, Ashton Reid, Chelsea Alvarado, and Jessica Lusby would play in front of their hometown fans.

The Vixens were limited by Shenandoah's pressure all game, collecting just four groundballs and three draw controls as a team. Jolicoeur led SBD defensively with two caused turnovers.

In goal for the Vixens, junior Shawnta Sherman made four saves to help the defensive efforts.

SBC will conclude its season next Saturday, with a 4 p.m. match at Bridgewater College.
