Sweet Lax Wraps Up 2017 Season At Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER, Va.- With graduation just around the corner, the Sweet Briar College lacrosse team concluded its 2017 regular season with a Saturday afternoon match at Bridgewater College. The host Eagles won their tenth match of the season by downing the Vixens, 18-0.

Junior Shawnta Sherman put together a solid performance in cage, playing all 60 minutes and making nine saves. In her first full seson playing in goal, Sherman ends the season with 64 saves.

As she has all season, junior Elizabeth Phaup anchored the SBC offensive effort, registering a shot, a groundball, and winning a single draw control. Phaup ends the season by leading the Vixens in goals, assists, points, groundballs, draw controls, and shots.

First-year Victoria Lawson helped in the Vixen attack with a shot on goal, a groundball, and winning a draw control. 

Senior Noell Cosby and Chelsea Alvarado led things on the defensive end by each registering a caused turnover and Cosby also snagged a groundball. Alvarado end's the season with a team-best five caused turnovers.
