Salem Edges Sweet Briar 8-7

The Sweet Briar lacrosse team dropped a tough 8-7 contest on the road at Salem College.  Wednesday marked the highest goal output by the Vixens since March 8, 2016, when they also scored seven goals in a contest against Oglethorpe College University.

Key Sweet Briar Players:

Victoria Lawson The sophomore exploded for four goals on 10 shots.

Elizabeth Phaup The senior contributed two goals to the Vixen cause.  Phaup also registered game-highs in caused turnovers (7), ground balls (4) and draw controls (5)

Kierstan Mullins:   Collected three ground balls and four caused turnovers for Sweet Briar.

Key Salem Players:

Collette Vladimery:  Scored 4 goals, including the eventual game winner with 8:27 remaining

 

 

Sweet Briar returns home to face Chatham University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
