Set the Tone

SWEET BRIAR, Va. ---  Vixen Tennis serves up week one spring action next week.  On Monday, February 18 Columbia College visits campus for a 3:30 p.m. non-conference match.   Sweet Briar then travels down Tobacco Road for a weekend of tennis in Raleigh, N.C.  On Sunday February 24, the Vixens take on William Peace University at 10 a.m.  Followed by a 2:30 p.m. match with Meredith College.  Incelement weather forced the double-dip on Sunday.

Junior tennis player Emma Merritt-Cuneo (Pacifica, Calif./Oceana) shares that she is very glad to be back on the courts with the team.  Merritt-Cuneo spent fall semester 2012 studying abroad in Dresden, Germany.   "I am anxious and excited for Monday's match."  The international affairs major continues, "it will be good to get on the court and feel the match pace again."

Fifth-year Vixen Tennis head coach Teresa Boylan also looks forward to starting the spring playing season.  " I am ready to see this team under pressure in match play.  They are a competitive group and the team is ready to begin competitions."
