Vixens earn return trip to ODAC Tournament

FOREST, Va. — For the first time since the 2015 season, the Sweet Briar tennis team will make its return to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Tournament on Tuesday with a visit to the No. 1-seed Washington & Lee.

Sweet Briar is scheduled to visit Washington & Lee on May 1, with a 1:30 p.m. scheduled start time.

The Vixens wrapped up the regular season 8-10 overall and 4-7 in ODAC action to earn the No. 8-seed in the conference tournament, while seniors AJ Lukanuski (Richmond, Va.), Samantha Yew (The Bronx, N.Y.) and sophomore Emily Wandling (Mechanicsville, Va.) wrapped conference play with five singles victories each.

As a duo, Lukanuski and Wandling posted a 6-4 doubles record in ODAC action with a four-match winning streak entering the conference tournament.

The Vixens last competed in the ODAC Tournament during the 2015 season, when Sweet Briar earned the No. 8-seed and visited No. 1-seed Washington & Lee.

Washington & Lee enters the tournament ranked No. 15 nationally and No. 4 in the Atlantic South Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
