Sweet XC Takes On The JMU Invitational

NEW MARKET, Va.- On Saturday afternoon, the Sweet Briar College cross country competed at the James Madison University Invitational, which was hosted at the New Market Battlefield. The Vixens finished fifth in the Non-Division 1 competition. 

First-year Alisa Wash paced SBC over the 6k course, finishing in a time of 27:06. Lydia Gullicksen and Jessie Melrose were close behind to round out Sweet Briar's top three. Gullicksen finished in 27:51 and Melrose stopped the clock at 28:46.

Rounding out SBC's top five were first-year's Madison Harpham and Hannah Marron.

The Vixens will return to action next Friday, Sept. 15, at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invitational. The women's 6k race is slated to begin at 5:30 p.m.
