Sweet Briar Hosts Women's College Invitation

SWEET BRIAR, Va.- On Saturday morning, the Sweet Briar College cross country team hosted Hollins University for the inaugural Women's College Invitational. 

First-year Alisa Wash led the Vixens with a third-place finish. Wash navigated the 6-kilometer course in a time of 31:11.53. A group of four SBC runners finished fourth-eighth, led by sophomore Victoria Lawson. Lawson stopped the clocked at 32:02.62, followed by Jessie Melrose in a time of 32:22.81, Lydia Gullicksen at 33:27.25, and Madison Harpham completed the pack with a time of 34:36.03.

Rounding out the Sweet Briar runners were first-years Hannah Marron and Sally Stooks.

The Vixens will now spend the next few weeks training hard in preparation for the ODAC Championships on Oct. 28 at Virginia Wesleyan University.
