Sweet Briar soccer gave up two first half goals against the
third ranked Eagles in a gritty game at Bridgewater on Saturday.
Scoring the first goal for the Eagles was Morgan Keplinger who
scored at the 33:39 mark. Brittany Johnson scored the second goal
at the 40:08 minute mark to make the score 2-0. The second
half would go scoreless, resulting in a second half shutout by both
teams.
Senior Helen Phillips (Lynchburg, Va.) and first year Caitlyn
Swauger (Clemons, N.C.) had strong games controlling the center of
the field while center backs Sierra Palmieri (Ft. Collins, Co.) and
Kat Alexander (Asheville, N.C.) kept the defense together to limit
the Eagles chances on net.
Sweet Briar soccer returns to action at home this Thursday against
Roanoke college. Game time is 4:30 pm.
