Box Score Last Call for Lifka
SWEET BRIAR, Va. --- Senior Ali Lifka
(Arden, N.C./T.C. Roberson) and the Vixen Soccer team hit the pitch
for the season's last home stand this week. On Thursday,
October 18 Sweet Briar hosts Roanoke College and on Saturday,
October 20, the Vixen side entertains Guilford College.
Saturday's game is part of the campus Homecoming/Families Weekend
schedule of events.
Roanoke rolls onto campus on the heels of two double-overtime
contests while Sweet Briar enters the match looking to recover from
Saturday's two-goal differential at Hollins.
On Saturday, October 20 prior to the match with Guilford
College, SBC will celebrate the team's lone senior, Ali
Lifka. To date, the defender has played in fifty-two contests
while wearing the SBC pink and green and for her career, Lifka has
collected 10 points on five goals scored.
Fellow Vixen defender Jacquelyne Bullet (Ashburn, Va. / Broad
Run) shares thought on playing the final home games of the 2012
season.
In addition to senior day ceremonies during Homecoming/Families
Weekend, Vixen Athletics also celebrates the induction of a fourth
class into the Athletics and Riding Hall of Fame. Four
alumnae make up the Class of 2012, which includes former tennis
player Mary Pope Hutson '83, field hockey and lacrosse player Sally
True Dow-Datilio '80 and two riders, Dianne Yaeger Rankin '66 and
Janet Hamilburg Chruchill '53. A complete schedule of events
is available online.
