2012 Season Draws to a Close

SWEET BRIAR, Va. --- Vixen Soccer travels across the mountain to face Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va. on Wednesday, October 24.  The Generals currently sit in second place in league standings.  SBC enters the season's final Old Dominion Athletic Conference contest bolstered by a strong performance in a conference match on Saturday.

Over the weekend the Vixen side hosted Guilford College as part of the College's Homecoming/Families Weekend and Senior Day festivities.  In the October 20 match, first-year Lynn Lunde (Dallas, Tex./Creekview) scored her second career goal and rookie keeper Katherine Tillson (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) made a huge stop in net on a Quaker penalty kick.

The mid-week ODAC match with the Generals marks the final career game for SBC senior Ali Lifka (Arden, N.C./T.C. Roberson).  Over her career, the defender has made 53 starts, missing only one start in four years.  Lifka has collected 11 total points on five goals and one assist.

Also during her career, the environmental science major has been twice named to the ODAC-All Academic Team (2010-11 and 2011-12) and most recently was voted Vixen of the Month (September 2012) by the Vixen Athletics department.
