SBC Soccer Upended by Washington and Lee

SWEET BRIAR, Va. --- Vixen Soccer hosted Washington and Lee University on Saturday at Babcock Field.  The Vixens entered the game winners of their previous Old Dominion Athletic Conference match against Randolph College and the Generals also claimed victory in their last outing.

 

Washington and Lee, bolstered by multi-goal performances from two players, captured a 10-0 win over SBC to remain perfect on the season in ODAC play.

 

WLU players Kathryn Riley (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) and Tricia Jessee (Roanoke, Va./Patrick Henry) each scored a hattrick in the contest.  Haley Ward (Feeral Way, Wash./Federal Way), Camille LeJeune (Lafayette, La./Episcopal School of Acadiana), Becca Dunn (Houston, Tex./Memorial) and Meaghan Latella (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) rounded out scoring for the visitors.

 

SBC keeper Katie Tillson made 10 saves on the day while Washington and Lee's net minder, Kingsley Schroeder (Dayton, Ohio) made one stop in the game.

 

With the loss, Sweet Briar's record now stands at 3-11-1 overall and 1-9 in the ODAC.  Washington and Lee improves to 13-1-1 on the year and 9-0 in conference play.

 

Vixen Soccer returns to action on Tuesday, October 22 when the team travels to Lynchburg College.  The ODAC match with the Hornets is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
