Box Score SWEET BRIAR, Va. --- Sweet Briar soccer returns to campus after a two-game road swing that included competitions against Roanoke and Guilford. On Wednesday, October 9, the Vixens welcome Hollins University to campus for a 4:30 p.m. match on Babcock Field.
On Saturday, October 12, the team travels north for a match under the lights at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Va. The game with the Royals is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
The team will look to pick up where it left off last week. After being held scoreless at Roanoke, SBC tallied two goals against Guilford. Nina Peck (Falls Curch, Va./Homeschooled) put the Vixens on the board first after cleaning up a Des'rae Davis (Houston, Tex. / Mirabeau B. Lamar) rebound to open scoring. Grayson Murphy (Salt Lake City, Utah/West) followed with a near post goal from just outside the Quaker 18 yard box.
Murphy currently leads the squad in total points (12) on five goals and two assists. The first-year's total points ranks 10th in the league. Teammate and fellow first-year Emily Welch (Pamplin, Va./Appomattox) holds the number five spot in the league for assists with four helpers on the season so far.
