Swimming Wraps Up Central Virginia Duals

LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Sweet Briar College swim team concluded the first annual Central Virginia Duals at the Liberty University Natatorium on Saturday afternoon. SBC split its duals against Ferrum College and Roanoke College, falling to the Maroons 221-74 and beating Ferrum, 159-113.

Day two got off to a strong start for Sweet Briar with Theresa Carriveau finishing second in the 1000-yard freestyle. She finished in a time of 13:15.35. Closely behind her in third place was fellow first-year Dharma Kear, who stopped the clock at 13:56.38.

In the 100 free, first-year Sarah Ahson finished four in a time of 1:01.72. Junior Caroline Thomas was able to finish third in the 200 back with a final time of 2:50.75. 

Carriveau had another strong showing later in the day, finishing third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 3:01.05. Right behind in fourth place was senior Claire Zak, who touched at 3:17.09.

The Vixens will now take time off from competition for finals, holiday break and the team's annual training trip in early January. They will return to the pool for competition on Friday, Jan. 19 when they travel to Greensboro College for a dual.
