CARY, N.C. — Sophomore Lera Cordner placed two shots on goal, while senior Caroline Thomas made 11 saves at WakeMed Soccer Park as William Peace topped Sweet Briar 9-0 on Wednesday night.

Sweet Briar (0-3-0) threatened William Peace (1-1-1) in the 17th minute when Cordner (Macungie, Pa.) forced a save by the Pacers' Makenzie Jones.

It was seven minutes later that William Peace broke open the scoring when Grace Marion scored, the eventual match-winner and her first of the night in the 25th minute.

The Vixens pushed forward again in the 51st minute as Cordner again forced Jones into a save. First-year Shay Young-Mitchell (Silver Spring, Md.) saw her 60th minute strike saved by Jones to hold the Pacers' 5-0 lead.

Thomas (Appomattox, Va.) notched 11 saves in frame for the Vixens.

Marion finished the evening with four goals for the Pacers.
