LYNCHBURG, Va. — Sweet Briar first-year Katelyn Meyer recorded a career-high 19 saves on Wednesday afternoon as the Vixens fell 9-0 to the Lynchburg Hornets at Shellenberger Field.
Lynchburg (9-3-1, 5-1-0 Old Dominion Athletic Conference) scored the match-winner in the sixth-minute as Amanda Wigboldy found the back of the net.
Wigboldy finished the day with a hat-trick against the Vixens (0-11-1, 0-5-0).
For Sweet Briar, Meyer (Smithsburg, Md.) bettered her career-best of 18 saves with her 19-save display against the Hornets. Meyer previously recorded 18 saves against Piedmont International and Bridgewater.
Sweet Briar returns home on Saturday for a Senior Day showdown against Shenandoah at 1 p.m.
