SWEET BRIAR, Va. – Sweet Briar swimming (1-0, 0-0 ODAC) came out on top against the Pfeiffer Falcons (0-1, 0-0 USA South) in the first home meet of the season today, 115-66.
The Vixens earned first place finishes in eight of the 11 total events on the day.
In the 800-meter freestyle first-years Acadia ElzHowe (Georgetown, Texas) and Gaby Aparicio (Quetzaltenango, Guatemala) finished first and second with times of 10:00.46 and 12:17.44, respectively.
Sophomore
Kass Carpenter (Mechanicsville, Va.) earned one of her two first place finishes on the day in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:26.98.
Sophomore
Devin Montgomery (San Antonio, Texas), senior Rachel Mills (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.) and junior
Elizabeth Sanford (Charlotte, N.C.) recorded time of 31.25, 32.41 and 33.13 in the 50-meter freestyle to finish first, second and third, respectively.
Junior
Peyton Murphy (Norfolk, Va.) bested her Pfeiffer opponent by nearly eight seconds for the victory in the 200-meter IM. In the 200-meter breaststroke, Murphy created nearly the same gap over the rest of the field.

- ElzHowe recorded a time of 2:30.71 during her first place run in the 200-meter butterfly, only .71 seconds shy of the program record.
- Carpenter's second victory of the day came in the 400-meter freestyle.
- Sweet Briar A and B teams finished one and two in the 200-meter freestyle relay with times of 2:12.96 and 2:16.44, respectively.
