FELTON, Del. – Following a victory over Lynchburg at the Dovington Training Center yesterday, the Sweet Briar NCEA team was topped by host Delaware State, 6-2.
The Vixen's earned a point in fences thanks to sophomore
Emmy Longest's (Hanover, Va.) 80-79 victory over Gabrielle Fournier on Tillie. First-year
Katherine Atherton (Montpelier, Va.) also did well in her exhibition ride, scoring six points higher than Victoria Croston.
First-year Paige Kennedy totaled a 65 on Ricky while senior Britt Larson Jackson (Washington, D.C.) came out with an 81 on Cici.
In flat, Longest once again scored the lone point for Sweet Briar. In collaboration with Sky the Virginia native earned a 74.5-64.5 victory over Maranda McCarthy. In the exhibition ride, Kennedy was a half point shy of Delaware State's total on Gina.
First-year
Anna Grace Ross (Grayson, Ga.) rode Denali for a score of 72 and sophomore
Rachel Perry (Rockville, Va.) earned an 80.5 on Finnegan.
Larson Jackson's score of 90.5 on Carfus was only half a point short of her Hornets counterpart.
