SWEET BRIAR, Va. – Sweet Briar swimming (7-3, 5-2 ODAC) earned sweeping 144-25 and 123-49 victories over Guilford and Hollins (1-4), respectively, for its senior day meet.
 
After honoring their four seniors before the start of the meet, the Vixens kicked off the action with four-straight victories. Junior Peyton Murphy (Norfolk, Va.) and first-years Acadia ElzHowe (Georgetown, Texas), Jillian Lewis (Ellicott City, Md.) and Mary Catherine Warner (Virginia Beach, Va.) headlined the 400-meter medley relay which earned a nearly two-minute victory over the Quakers.
 
The medley relay was followed by first-place finishes from sophomore Kass Carpenter (Mechanicsville, Va.) in the 800-meter freestyle, Murphy in the 200-meter freestyle and Warner in the 50-meter freestyle. All three of those races also saw second-place finishes from Sweet Briar swimmers thanks to first-year Gaby Aparicio (Quetzaltenango, Guatemala), senior Rachael Mills (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.) and sophomore Devin Montgomery (San Antonio, Texas) In the 800, 200 and 50 freestyle events, respectively.
 
ElzHowe registered a time of 2:29.96 in the 200-meter butterfly to capture the third school record of her career. The Texas native followed that victory up with a first-place finish in the 400-meter freestyle.
 
Carpenter earned her second individual victory of the meet in the 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:53.90, followed closely by Warner in second.
 
The Vixens finished the meet with another relay victory, this time in the 200-meter freestyle. Mills, Montgomery, Murphy and Sanford combined for a time of 2:07.90.
 
Highlights

• ElzHowe now holds school records in the 200 butterfly, the 800 freestyle and the 15000 freestyle.
• Along with ElzHowe, three other Vixens recorded season-best times; Lewis in the 200 IM and the 200 breaststroke, Mills in the 100 freestyle and the 200 freestyle and Warner in the 100 backstroke.
• Sweet Briar has now earned three-straight victories against Hollins
