WINCHESTER, Va. – The Sweet Briar soccer team (1-9-0, 1-5-0 ODAC) was overcome by the Shenandoah Hornets (8-4-1, 2-3-0 ODAC) yesterday, falling by a score of 18-0.
The Hornets got off to a quick start scoring their first goal at the 1:13 minute mark. Nine more balls would find the back of the net for the home team to give them a 10-0 lead at the half.
The momentum continued to swing their way in the second with eight more goals bringing the final score to 18-0.
Defensively, sophomore
Trista Cleaves (Millville, N.J.) and first-year
Michaella Fraser Freshour (South Boston, Va.) combined for nine saves.
Highlights
- Cleaves recorded six saves during her time in goal while Fraser Freshour had three in her first collegiate appearance in the net.
- Despite playing in yet another tough conference match, seven Vixens logged 90-minutes on the field.
