AMHERST, Va. – Sweet Briar soccer (1-6-0, 1-2-0 ODAC) was overpowered by the Lynchburg Hornets (5-2-4, 3-0-0 ODAC) tonight, falling by a score of 9-0.
The Hornets got off to a hot start, notching five goals in the first 20 minutes of play. An additional Lynchburg goal at the 30:45 mark would put the visitors up 6-0 entering the half.
Despite having more shots in the second half, the Hornets managed to only get two past the Sweet Briar defense bringing the game to a 9-0 conclusion.
Defensively, sophomore goalkeeper
Trista Cleaves (Millville, N.J.) totaled 12 saves.

- Graduate student Caroline Lewis (Ellicott City, Md.), junior Delaney Armenti (Lynchburg, Va.) and sophomore Emma Wilk (Roxbury, N.J.) led the team in shots.
- Armenti and Wilk led the team in shots on goal as well.
