SWEET BRIAR, Va. – In the first ever matchup between the two programs, the Sweet Briar NCEA Team (5-2) easily took down the Sewanee Tigers (1-3) by a score of 7-1.
The Vixens only allowed the Tigers to score one point in fences competition, taking the 3-1 lead early in the meet.
First-year
Katherine Atherton (Montpelier, Va.) rode Cardino to a score of 75 for her fourth victory in the event this season. Senior
Britt Larson-Jackson (Washington, D.C.) earned Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honors in fences after scoring an 86 with Dorado. Also earning a point for the Vixens in the event was junior
Kacie Freeburg (Orlando, Fla.) who totaled an 83.
Reigning Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Flat Rider of the Week Freeburg showed no signs of slowing down as she totaled a 91.5 on Mulligan to earn the MOP title in that event.
The highest score for the Vixens on the day, Freeburg beat her opponent Sissy Sugarman by 24 points.
Also helping the Vixens earn the sweep in the flat event was Larson-Jackson who totaled a 91 on Jackson, compared to a 70 from Sienna London. Atherton captured her second point of the meet with an 86 on Dance while sophomore
Emmy Longest (Hanover, Va.) scored an 86.5 with the help of Otis.
Highlights
- Larson-Jackson's 86 in fences was nine points higher than London.
- Atherton and Freeburg continue to remain undefeated in flat competition with records of 3-0-1 and 5-0, respectively.

- First-year Anna Grace Ross (Grayson, Ga.) score an 80 on her exhibition ride in fences while sophomore Rachel Perry (Roanoke, Va.) totaled an 81 in her flat exhibition ride.
- Both sophomore Nina Hugi (Chicago, Ill.) and first-year Paige Kennedy (Purcellville, Va.) participated in demo rides in the flat event.

The Vixens will host SUNY New Paltz on Friday, Feb. 25 before heading to Texas for matchups against Southern Methodist and TCU in early March.
