NORWALK, Conn. – The No. 2 Single Discipline Sweet Briar College NCEA team (2-1, 1-0 ODAC) ended its two-meet road trip with a decisive 6-2 victory over the No. 3 Sacred Heart University Pioneers (0-1).
The Vixens earned three out of a possible four points in both the fences and flat disciplines to secure the victory.
In fences competition, juniors
Katherine Atherton (Montpelier, Va.) and
Isabelle Mesiarik (Pottstown, Pa.) and sophomore
Naomi Dachis (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) all earned points.
Atherton remained perfect in fences thanks to an 83 on Foxy. The Virginia native beat out her Pioneer opponent by two points. Mesiarik also earned a two-point victory with a 73 on Ivy.
Dachis earned her first Most Outstanding Performer nod of the season with an 86 on Torch; taking down her opponent by 21 points.
During the flat portion of the meet, points for Sweet Briar were earned by juniors
Ella Peterson (Ashland, Va.) and Atherton and sophomore
Lauren Satola (Fulton, Md.).
Atherton took home her first Flat MOP title of the season after scoring an 80 to beat out Abigal Marsh by five points.
Peterson totaled a 79 on Solo while Satola earned a 76 on Foxy in her first meet of the season.
Highlights
- Dachis' 22-point margin of victory marks her highest of the season.
- Sophomore Wyette Felton (Canton, Ga.) also saw action during the flat portion of the meet; scoring a 65 to tie with her opponent Mackenzie Hamilton.
- The Vixens remain a perfect 4-0 all-time against the Pioneers.

The team will be back in action at the Harriet Howell Rogers Riding Center on Nov. 3 against No. 1 Lynchburg.
