SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College NCEA team (9-2, 7-1 ECAC) is the No. 1 seeded single discipline team heading into the National Collegiate Equestrian Association National Championship.
Semifinal action will take place starting at 9 a.m. tomorrow at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Fla., while the Championship meet will begin at the same time on Saturday, April 15.
As the No. 1 seed, the Vixens will take on No. 4 Sacred Heart. If victorious, Sweet Briar will face the winner of No. 2 Lynchburg/No. 3 Bridgewater.
The team last competed in a 6-3 victory over then No. 1-seed Lynchburg for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship title on March 25. The win marked the second-straight ECAC Single Discipline title for the Vixens, who remain undefeated in conference tournament play.
What to Know
- Sweet Briar is 2-0 all-time against Sacred Heart after posting 5-2 and 9-1 victories during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, respectively.
- In last year's semifinals, the Vixens came away with the 4-4 (2951.5-2801) victory over then No.4-seed SUNY New Paltz.
What's Next
The team will set its sights on the 2023-24 season following the conclusion of the 2023 NCEA National Championship.
