FOREST, Va. – The No. 7 Single Discipline Sweet Briar College NCEA team swept this week's Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Rider of the Week Awards, with sophomore
Hallie Nelson (Duette, Fla.) getting the honor on the flat and first-year
Lexi Reininger (Webster, N.Y.) earning the honor over fences.
Nelson is currently undefeated in flat competition, after beating Berry and then-No. 7 Sewanee. The Florida native earned a 20-point margin of victory with a score of 76 against the Vikings and followed that up the next day with an 85 against the Tigers for a 10-point margin of victory.
Reininger is also perfect in fences competition and currently holds a 2-0 record with one Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) honor. The first-year earned her first MOP nod in her first collegiate meet at Berry after scoring an 86. The New York native then went on to total an 80 at Sewanee.
Nelson and Reininger averaged over 80 in last week's meets while also earning an adjusted NRS over 90%.
This marks the first ODAC weekly honors of the season for both student-athletes.
The Vixens will be back in action on Friday at No. 2 Lynchburg.
