GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Sweet Briar College swim team (1-8, 1-6 ODAC) wrapped up day three of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championships with two more sessions today.
Sophomore
Geneva Seitz (Havre de Grace, Md.) was the first Vixen in the pool as she placed 23rd in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:28.00.
Junior
EJ Scherrer (Simpsonville, S.C.) earned a time of 2:36.29 to come 27th in the 200-yard freestyle, while first-year
Kylee Nickerson (Waterford, Mich.) completed the race in 2:57.84 to come in 29th.
Three Sweet Briar swimmers saw action in the 100-yard breaststroke. Scherrer led the way in 24th with a time of 1:32.76. First-year
Katie Kreska (West Lawn, Pa.) and sophomore
Carlee Minyard (Jacksonville, Fla.) finished 25th and 26th with times of 1:54.14 and 2:06.76, respectively.
In the 100-yard backstroke, sophomore
Emily Carter (Kermit, W. Va.) recorded a time of 1:19.09 to place 21st. Junior
Julia Elliott (Norfolk, Va.) also competed in the event and placed 24th after touching the wall at the 1:44.35 mark.
The Vixens competed in the night session with a ninth-place showing in the 200-yard medley relay. The relay team of first-year
Ava Powers (Crandall, Texas), Kreska, Seitz and Minyard combined for a time of 2:54.21.
Highlights
- Nickerson competed in the 200-yard freestyle event for the first time in her collegiate career today, while both Kreska and Minyard competed in the 200-yard breaststroke for the first time.
- Carter set a new personal-best time in the 100-yard backstroke.

The Championships will conclude with two final sessions tomorrow, Feb. 14th.
