SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The No. 5 single discipline Sweet Briar College NCEA team (6-3, 5-2 ODAC) rode to a commanding 9–1 victory over the Berry College Vikings on Friday, backed by strong performances in both fences and flat to post a 794–705 overall score at home.
In fences competition, Sweet Briar set the tone early with a 4–1 event win, highlighted by a Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) ride from first-year
Sadie Swift (Leonardtown, Md.), who delivered an 85 on Kobe for the team's top score in the event. Senior
Maggie Booth (Marietta, Ga.) added an 83 on Hemingway to secure a point, while fellow senior
Naomi Dachis (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) matched that 83 on Jetson to put another point on the board. Senior
Wyette Felton (Canton, Ga.) rounded out scoring in the fences portion of the meet with a winning 79 on Tallulah, helping the Vixens to a 408–362 advantage over Berry and the overall event win.
On the flat, Sweet Briar was even more dominant, sweeping the event 5–0 to lock up the meet. Sophomore
Gracie Robertson (Mocksville, N.C.) delivered a standout 83 on Trey to earn the flat MOP honor and cap Sweet Briar's scoring surge. Sophomore
Abigail Schreiner (Villa Rica, Ga.) impressed with a 79 on GG, while Booth continued her strong day with a 77 on Aate to secure another point in the second event. First-year
Hallie Nelson (Duette, Fla.) contributed a winning 74 on Kanye, and Felton added a 73 on Emmett, giving Sweet Briar a 386–343 Flat edge and completing the 9–1 team victory.
