PURCELLVILLE, Va. – The Sweet Briar College soccer team (0-2-1, 0-0 ODAC) earned a scoreless draw at the Patrick Henry College Lady Sentinels (1-1-1) on Saturday afternoon, controlling much of the attacking rhythm. The Vixens outshot Patrick Henry 11–4, put five attempts on target, and led 4–1 in corner kicks in the 0–0 result.
Sweet Briar opened aggressively and maintained the stronger share of chances throughout a physical, scoreless contest against Patrick Henry on Saturday.
The Vixens created an early opportunity off a corner kick from senior
Alexis Diaz (Connelly Springs, N.C.) at the opening whistle. Diaz quickly tested the Patrick Henry goalkeeper in the third minute, then forced another save in the 10th minute as Sweet Briar established pressure in the attacking half.

Elena Fomin (Middlesex County, Va.) fired a shot high moments later. Diaz continued to drive the Vixen attack, sending another effort high in the 19th minute. Junior
Electra McPherson (Madison Heights, Va.) then created two first-half opportunities, putting one attempt seriously in the 26th minute before forcing a Lady Sentinels save in the 33rd minute.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Kylee Nickerson (Waterford, Mich.) preserved the clean sheet in the 35th minute, stopping Patrick Henry's lone shot on goal of the first half. The Vixens took a 6–1 edge in shots into halftime, though the match remained scoreless.
Sweet Briar resumed its attack immediately after the break. First-year
Addison Benge (Powhatan, Va.) forced a save just two minutes into the second half, while Swart sent a shot wide in the 54th minute.
Diaz reentered in the 56th minute and again became a central figure in the attack. She delivered a corner kick in the 58th minute, fired wide in the 63rd minute, and registered her third shot on goal of the afternoon in the 66th minute.
Diaz added another attempt wide in the 71st minute, finishing as Sweet Briar's leading shooter with six attempts and three shots on target.
The Vixens earned their fourth and final corner of the match in the 80th minute, continuing to press for a late breakthrough. Although Sweet Briar did not find the deciding goal, its defensive unit and goalkeepers made sure the match ended level.

The Vixens will host Williams Peace on Sept. 16th before closing out the non-conference schedule against Agnes Scott on Sept. 20th.
