Sweet Briar Opens 2011 Conference Play with Road Loss at Lynchburg College

Lynchburg, Va. --- The Lynchburg College Hornets opened conference play and defense of their 2010 ODAC title in convincing fashion on Saturday afternoon at Shellenberger Field.  Within the first 15 minutes of play the Hornets hung four scores on the board, the Vixens would not recover.  By the games end, six different Hornets would tally goals as Lynchburg rolled to a 9-0 win over Sweet Briar.

 

While the Vixen offense failed to generate a shot or corner, Lynchburg's offense fired on all cylinders.  The Hornets put up 24 shots on goal; they also enjoyed a 7 to 0 advantage on corner kicks.  SBC keeper Lindsey Wilson (14/'Bedford, Va.), recorded 15 saves on 90 minutes of play. 

 

The Vixens next face the 2010 ODAC Championship Runner-up Virginia Wesleyan College on Wednesday, September 21 in Norfolk, Va.
