BRIDGEWATER, Va. --- Bridgewater College snapped a 2-game losing streak on Tuesday afternoon by defeating Sweet Briar College in the early-week Old Dominion Athletic Conference game.  Melanie Waters (Pasadena, Md.) led the Eagles with a six-point performance.   The sophomore scored two goals and threw in two helpers to lead her team in the 11-0 victory.

 

Midfielders Rebecca Buechler ('14/Chesapeaker, Va.) and Rachel Buechler ('14/Chesapeake, Va.) led the attack for the Vixens.  The duo was charged with controlling the ball in the center third and attacking the Bridgewater back line. The Eagles however, were equal to the task.  For the game, SBC posted no shots and generated no corner opportunities. 

 

Sophomore net minder Lindsey Wilson (Bedford, Va.) faced copious Bridgewater shots from the first whistle to the last.  The Eagles fired off a season-high 41 shots.  Helen Feeser ('15/Laurel, Md.) and Sarah Connor ('14/Eldersburg, Md.) added to the high-powered offense; the pair of Eagles joined Waters in notching two goals.    

 

With the loss, the SBC record slips to 1-6 overall and 0-4 in conference play.  Today's game marks the end of a four game road swing for the Vixens.  SBC returns to Babcock Field on Saturday, October 1 for a 12pm ODAC contest against Washington and Lee University.
