Box Score ASHLAND, Va. --- Vixen Soccer traveled to league rival Randolph-Macon on Saturday afternoon for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference match. The host Yellow Jackets entered the contest winners of their last two ODAC games while the Vixens began the match still on the hunt for a league win.
Although SBC rookie keeper Katherine Tillson (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) notched another scoreless second half, the Vixens were not able to overcome the first half deficit. R-MC upended the Vixens 4-0.
Meredith Echles (Williamsburg, Va. / Jamestown) put the Yellow Jackets on the board in the 6th minute and teammate Meghan O'Neal (Richmond, VA / Mills Godwin) sealed the deal in the 24th minute when she netted two goals within less than a minute of play. Erin Hauser (Keswick, VA / Covenant) capped scoring, with the game's final tally at the 29:45 mark.
Tillson stopped eight of 12 shots in the opening frame and kept another eight would-be scores out of the goal in the second half.
Sweet Briar returns to Babcock Field for another league game on Wednesday, October 10 when the Bridgewater College Eagles visit. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
