ROANOKE, Va. — Junior Lera Cordner placed a shot on frame for Sweet Briar, while first-year Katelyn Meyer tallied five saves in the Vixens' 2-0 loss at Hollins on Wednesday afternoon.
Hollins (4-9-0, 1-6-0 ODAC) scored the match-winner in the 15th minute when Stephanie Samoy assisted on a Sydney Pickett goal.
The Vixens (0-13-1, 0-7-0) placed a shot on target in the 24th minute when Cordner (Macungie, Pa.) saw her shot saved by Hollins' Kendra Rich.
Hollins added an insurance goal in the 43rd minute as Samoy scored off an assist from Mitch Mitchell.
Cordner, junior Caylin Newman (Bedford, Va.) and senior Lacey Tucker (Swansboro, N.C.) all finished the day with a shot, while Meyer finished with five saves.
Sweet Briar will be back in action on Saturday with a 5 p.m. kickoff scheduled at Emory & Henry.
