AMHERST, Va. — Junior
Rosemary Austin recorded 12 saves on Wednesday evening as Sweet Briar was topped 9-0 by Randolph-Macon at Amherst County High School.
Randolph-Macon (4-3) tallied the eventual game winner in the eighth minute when Ayanna Healy scored the first of two Yellow Jackets goals in the opening period.
Randolph-Macon scored three additional first half goals to take a 5-0 lead over Sweet Briar (2-5) into halftime. The Yellow Jackets notched four second half goals, to leave Amherst with a 9-0 victory.
Austin (Commerce Township, Mich.) notched 12 saves, while on the offensive end of the field junior
Alexis Jones (Suffolk, Va.) took two shots and first-year
Colleen Goodly (Yorktown, Va.) fired off one shot of her own.
