LYNCHBURG, Va. — Sweet Briar swimmers recorded five personal bests on Friday evening, as the Vixens competed in a tri-meet at the Liberty Natatorium against Lynchburg and Roanoke.
Roanoke topped both Sweet Briar (0-3) and Lynchburg, while Lynchburg defeated the Vixens.
First-year Kass Carpenter (Mechanicsville, Va.) and senior Nora Florio (Lynchburg, Va.) both recorded personal bests in the 200-yard freestyle. Carpenter finished with a time of 2:14.12, while Florio touched the wall at 2:54.16.
The 50-yard freestyle saw first-year Devin Montgomery (San Antonio, Texas) touch with a personal best time of 25.58.
Carpenter finished with a second personal best when she finished the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:26.53.
The 100-yard butterfly saw Montgomery earn her second personal best time of the night when she touched the wall with a time of 1:15.95.
The Vixens get a short break from competition before heading to Virginia Beach on February 20th for an 11 a.m. meet at Virginia Wesleyan.
