SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The first contest of the spring semester will take place on Saturday, Jan. 15 as the Vixens (5-3, 3-2 ODAC) host Guilford and Hollins (0-3) at the Prothro Natatorium at 11 a.m.
Sweet Briar is coming off a successful first half of the season which saw the team capture five wins and a fifth-place finish at the Guilford Invitational on Nov. 6. One of those victories came on Dec. 11 against Hollins, as the Vixens took down its ODAC rival 133-53.
Earning victories in all but two races against Hollins the last time out, the team earned four individual first-place finishes as well as the top time in the 200-yard medley and the 200-yard freestyle relays.

- First-year Acadia ElzHowe (Georgetown, Texas) was named the Sweet Briar College Student-Athlete of the Month for December after setting a new 1500-meter freestyle pool and school record.
- Eight members of the team saw season-best times against Hollins on Dec. 11, including senior Rachael Mills (Plymouth Meeting, Pa.) in the 100 and 200 freestyle and first-year Mary Catherine Warner (Virginia Beach, Va.) in the 50 and 100 freestyle.
- Sweet Briar holds a 3-1 record against Guilford over the past four years while its victory against Hollins is the first in recent history.
