SWEET BRIAR, Va. – Sweet Briar field hockey (7-6, 1-2 CSAC) celebrated senior day today with a 3-1 victory over the Lancaster Bible Chargers (3-11, 1-2).
After a scoreless first quarter, junior
Avery Jones (Union, Conn.) opened up the scoring off an assist from fellow junior
Brynna Hughes (Richmond, Va.).
The Chargers responded and tied the game up only a minute later to put the score at 1-1 entering the half.
At the 43:30 mark in the third, senior
Kaytee Reynolds (Sydney, Australia) tallied the game-winning goal while Hughes capped the 3-1 victory off with a goal with three and a half minutes remaining.
Defensively, sophomores
Tika Eastman (Porter, Maine) and
Ashley Maggiora (Hollister, Calif.) both saw action in the cage.
