SWEET BRIAR, Va. – Sweet Briar field hockey (7-7, 3-2 CSAC) took down conference opponents Bryn Athyn (1-10, 1-4 CSAC) 8-1 for the team's second-straight Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) win.
Sophomore
Jolin Daughety (Williamsburg, Va.) got the scoring started after finding the back of the net off a rebound opportunity with time expiring in the first quarter.
The Vixens went up by two thanks to a tally from junior
Brynna Hughes (Richmond, Va.) at the 27:42 mark of the game.
Less than two minutes into the start of the second half, Hughes would find sophomore
Molly Booth (Orono, Maine) to increase Sweet Briar's lead to three.
Less than ten minutes later, the home team's lead would increase by one more as junior
Avery Jones (Union, Conn.) tallied her first goal of the game.
The Vixens would score as many in the fourth quarter as they had through the first three-quarters of the game with senior
Colleen Goodly (Yorktown, Va.), sophomore
Giselle Vega (Virginia Beach, Va.), Jones and senior
Ingrid Kalwitz Blanco (Antofagasta, Chile) would all find the back of the net.
The Lions would tally a goal of their own with time expiring to bring the game to its 8-1 close.
