SEWANEE, Tenn. – The No. 2 NCEA team (3-1, 3-1 ECAC) earned a dominating 7-1 win over No. 3 Sewanee (1-0, 1-0 NCEA) today.
The Vixens earned two Most Outstanding Performer (MOP) nods in today's meet with senior
Kacie Freeburg (Orlando, Fla.) receiving the honor in flat competition. Freeburg, the reigning Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Flat Rider of the Month earned a 75 on Carlson to beat her Tigers opponent by 11 points.
Also earning victories in flat was junior
Emmy Longest (Hanover, Va.) and sophomore
Ella Peterson (Ashland, Va.) who each scored a 63 and a 71, respectively.
The reigning ECAC Fences Rider of the Month,
Isabelle Mesiarik (Pottstown, Pa.), continued her domination in the event with an MOP nod after totaling an 82 on Carlson.
Sophomore
Katherine Atherton (Montpelier, Va.) totaled the highest win margin of the day for Sweet Briar with an 18-point win over Ariella Gesthalter with an 80 on Marvin. First-year Naomi Dachis (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) and Longest helped complete the sweep in fences with scores of 79 and 77, respectively.
Highlights
- Mesiarik's score of 82 was the highest score earned for any competitor today.
- Mesiarik remains undefeated in fences competition with a 4-0 record, while Freeburg holds the same perfect record in flat.
- Peterson is also perfect in flat with a 2-0 record.
