CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Sweet Briar field hockey team (7-10, 2-3 CSAC) concluded the 2022 season with a 3-0 loss to the Wilson Phoenix (11-3, 5-0 CSAC) in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Field Hockey Semifinals.
 
After a scoreless first quarter, the Phoenix got on the board thanks to a successful penalty stroke attempt in the second.
 
After a save by sophomore goalkeeper Ashley Maggiora (Hollister, Calif.) on Wilson's second penalty stroke of the game, the home team capitalized on an opportunity to go up 2-0.
 
An additional goal five minutes into the fourth would bring the game to its 3-0 close.
 
Reflecting on this past season and looking forward to next fall Head Coach Hannah Lott remarked, "It was a great run and I'm grateful for this team and our great group of seniors that gave it their all in their last game today. I can't wait for next year".
 
Highlights

• Maggiora registered 15 saves in the game.
• Sophomore Jolin Daughety (Williamsburg, Va.) led the team in shots.

The Vixens will now look ahead to the 2023 season.
