DALLAS, Texas – The Sweet Briar NCEA team (6-3), the No. 1 ranked single discipline team in the nation, fell to the Southern Methodist Mustangs (8-5) by a score of 7-3 today.
Scoring for the Vixens in fences was first-year
Katherine Atherton (Montpelier, Va.) and senior
Britt Larson-Jackson (Washington, D.C.). Atherton scored a 70 on Chester, five points more than her SMU opponent Devin Seek. Meanwhile, Larson-Jackson beat Alex Pielet with an 80 on Hamilton to help bring Sweet Briar within one heading into the flat event.
First-year
Paige Kennedy (Purcellville, Va.) was the lone point-getter for the team on flat, totaling an 86 on Bravo.
