AMHERST, Va. – Sweet Briar soccer (0-4-0, 1-0-0 ODAC) came out on top over Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) rivals Hollins (0-4-0, 0-1-0 ODAC) today, winning the match by a score of 3-2.
Graduate student
Caroline Lewis (Ellicott City, Md.) got the scoring started, finding the back of the net off a pass from senior
Evelyn Tello (Hampton, Ga.) a little over five minutes into the game.
Ten minutes later Hollins answered with a goal of its own to tie the match up at one.
However, Lewis wasn't slowing down, picking up a rebound of junior
Delaney Armenti's (Lynchburg, Va.) shot to put the Vixens back up by one.
A last minute goal at the 44:23 mark from Hollins would put the match at a 2-2 tie heading into halftime.
Lewis would complete the hattrick fifteen minutes into the second half of play and a shutout from sophomore goalkeeper
Trista Cleaves (Millville, N.J.) would ensure the 3-2 victory for Sweet Briar.
