SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar swim team (3-4, 3-2 ODAC) will compete in its first meet of 2023 on Saturday when the Vixens take on the Ferrum Panthers at 10 a.m.
Saturday’s contest will mark the second time this season that the two teams will meet after a 150-32 Sweet Briar victory on Nov. 5.
A double dual meet between Sweet Briar, Ferrum and Virginia Wesleyan, the Vixens took home two first-place finishes. Sophomores Gaby Aparicio (Quetzaltenango, Guatemala) and Mary Catherine Warner (Virginia Beach, Va.) both sat atop the podium in the 800-meter freestyle and the 100-meter freestyle, respectively.
The team last competed at the Yellow Jacket Invite on Dec. 3, coming in eighth place.
