FERRUM, Va. – The Sweet Briar College field hockey team (6-8, 2-4 ODAC) shut out the Ferrum College Panthers (2-12, 0-6 ODAC) tonight with a 2-0 victory.
Senior
Brynna Hughes (Richmond, Va.) broke the scoreless tie in the second quarter off a pass from junior
Jolin Daughety (Williamsburg, Va.). The Vixens would take that one goal lead heading into halftime.
Fellow senior
Avery Jones (Union, Conn.) would tally an insurance goal for Sweet Briar at the 35:25 mark.
Without any additional scoring in the fourth quarter, the game came to an eventual 2-0 close.
