SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College soccer team (4-8-1) fell to the Greensboro College Pride (7-5-4, 3-2-2 USA South) by a score of 9-0 in the first matchup since 2016 and the first ever to take place in Virginia.
The Pride started the scoring with a tally at the 2:21 mark of the match. With the two programs battling for possession during the subsequent 10 minutes of play, Greensboro would find the back of the net three more times for the 4-0 lead midway through the first half.
The visitors would increase their lead to five just two minutes past kick-off in the second and tally another goal less than two minutes later to bring the score to 6-0.
A goal in the 70', followed by two more at the 82:02 and 84:49 mark, would give the Pride the eventual 9-0 victory.

Trista Cleaves (Millville, N.J.) recorded 22 total saves through 90 minutes of action.
