Field Hockey Concludes 2023 Season Against No. 17 Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va. – The Sweet Briar College field hockey team (6-11, 2-7 ODAC) concluded the 2023 season this afternoon with a 7-0 loss to the No. 17 Shenandoah University Hornets (16-2, 8-1 ODAC).
 
The Vixens held the Hornets scoreless for the first five minutes of play before a goal at the 6:25 mark finally got the home team on the board.
 
Another tally a little over three minutes later would increase Shenandoah's lead to two.
 
To more tallies less than a minute apart in the second quarter would bring the score to 5-0 in favor of the home team heading into halftime.
 
The Hornets would add two more onto the scorecard in the third while a scoreless fourth quarter would bring the game to its 7-0 close.
 
Highlights
  • Junior Abby Lindsey (Providence Forge, Va.) recorded nine saves in goal.
  • Sophomore Jenna Prevet (Nesconset, N.Y.) earned her seventh defensive save of the year to move up to 17th nationally in the stat category.
 
What's Next
The Vixens will now look ahead to the 2024 season.
