LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Sweet Briar College soccer team (0-3-0) was taken down by the LaGrange College Panthers (2-0-2, 0-0-0 CCS) today by a score of 3-0.
The game was deadlocked at zero for most of the first half with the Panthers breaking through at the 44' to take a one-goal lead into the half.
LaGrange would add to its lead at the 74:30 mark and would find the back of the net less than three minutes later to go up 3-0.
The final 13 minutes would go scoreless to bring the game to its 3-0 close.
Junior goalkeeper
Trista Cleaves (Millville, N.J.) recorded nine saves during her 77 minutes in the net.
Highlights
- First-year Mia Viccora (Fairfax, Va.) saw her first collegiate minutes in goal today, tallying two saves over 13 minutes of action.
- First-year Alexis Diaz (Connelly Springs, N.C.) led the team in both shots and shots on goal.
What's Next
The Vixens will head Gallaudet on Sept. 16 for their first matchup against the Bison since 2000.
