SWEET BRIAR, Va. – The Sweet Briar College soccer team (2-3-0) shut out the Trinity Washington University Tigers (0-3-0) today as they earned a 10-0 victory at Meyer Field.
First-year
Abby Bryant (Morganton, N.C.) got the Vixens on the board first off a pass from junior
Jillian Lewis (Ellicott City, Md.).
Fellow first-year
Elise Bennett (Louisa, Va.) would tally the first of her career less than a minute later to increase the Vixens' lead to two.
First-year Alexia Diaz (Connelly, Springs N.C.) tallied the next three goals for Sweet Briar over the course of a few minute to bring the score to 5-0.
Her goals were followed by one from senior Renée Taylor (York, Pa.) and the first collegiate goal scored by
Mia Viccora (Fairfax, Va.) for the 7-0 lead.

Sophie Vargesko (Plum, Pa.) and junior
Emma Wilk (Roxbury, N.J.) would bring the score to 9-0 leading into halftime.
The Vixens' lone tally in the second half of play came from Bennett at the 57' mark.
Sweet Briar completely shut out the Tigers; not even allowing a single shot on goal over the course of the 70 minutes.

- The team has now won back-to-back games for the first time since the 2014 season.
- Junior Natalie Cockey (Oxford, Md.), Lewis and Viccora all recorded assists in today's match.
- Today marks the first time that Sweet Briar has scored 10 goals in a single game since a 10-1 victory over Trinity on Sept. 7, 2013.
- Today's 10-0 final score also marks the largest margin of victory for the Vixens over the Tigers in program history.
